Restaurant in a bowling alley. Amazing flavor of chicken. Portions are big so if you don't eat alot, definitely share! Pumpkin crunch here is soooo good. Always a classic. Parking can get tight, place does get really busy, plan ahead!
I get very happy when I’m doing a review for somewhere in Aiea. This is my hometown after all. Since I’m married, I’ve lived in Wahiawa just almost as long as I did growing up in Aiea but my ties are still as strong as they ever were. My reviews however, I promise you, will always be honest! The Alley in Aiea Bowl has always been a favorite of mine. The food here is SUPER ONO and the Pepsi Cola Turkey Sandwich is a must. This is the only place on Oahu that I would pick turkey out of my favorite Teri beef, Kalbi, BBQ chicken or smoked rib meats. Nowhere else would I do that. It’s that incredibly delicious. Order some waffle fries, any dessert from here and you’re happy the rest of the day. My husband loves the hamburger steak plate here and I guarantee you just about everything else on the menu too because after many many years of eating here is proof. Today I was craving their carrot cake that not many talk about because all their desserts are crazy yummy but I’m here to say it’s a slice of happiness! Placing a phone order here does sometimes require patience. I actually called the day before a couple times but no answer. The female that answered today wasn’t cheerful or accurate ( I was actually missing an order of waffle fries. I know I ordered two) so check your order. Still, it’s worth making here a regular spot and support long time local businesses!
Who would have thought a bowling alley would have such good food. If you’re dining in, make sure you check in with the host instead of ordering at the To-Go counter. The food here was bomb! Everything came out hot and fresh and was delicious. All the staff that we encountered here were super friendly and helpful. This place has a total neighborhood local vibe to it which explains why it’s so popular with the local community and people from around the island.
The food and service were outstanding on two different occasions. They are part of a bowling alley so the atmosphere could be off, depending on what you are trying to do at this restaurant. Kitchen area and restroom could be cleaner. They were busy both times we came, once for lunch and once for dinner. The OX Tail soup was very rich! We had that, tasty chicken and the shrimp both times. I rated the entrees in that exact order. Will definitely return.
We came for lunch after locals recommended it but once we saw the desert case, we decided to order desserts. The pumpkin crunch was my favorite- so cool and creamy. But the lemon crunch cake is what they are known for. It was a moist sponge with thin layers of lemon curd and crunch topping.
The most amazing oxtail soup. Goes perfect with that dipping sauce. I am addicted! I have been eating here for the past 10 years. It’s the only place I go when I am craving oxtail soup. The tasty chicken is also excellent. And the lemon crunch and pumpkin crunch dessert is awesome! No Apple Pay.
The food is yummy at the Alley Restaurant inside Aiea Bowl. My friend took me to this restaurant when we were in Hawaii. We were lucky to show up a little early before the long line in front of the front door. The service is fast, and the food is delicious. No wonder so many people line up in front of the bowling alley—not for bowling, but for the food.
Most people wouldn’t think about getting a nice table service dinner out at a bowling alley. Tonight we joined a local friend at The Alley Restaurant Bar & Grill at Aiea Bowling Alley. We ordered Tasty Chicken with brown rice and macaroni salad 16.95 which is deep fried battered boneless chicken dipped in a tasty alley sauce. We also ordered Teriyaki Salmon with brown rice and macaroni salad 18.95. Both of these dishes were very flavorful and very filling. We shared desserts of Lemon Crunch Cake (5.75) and also a ever so light piece of cheesecake with a blueberry sauce on top. Both desserts were excellent and all desserts are made in house. They have a dessert case with many different options, all of which looked like items we would like to try. The wait time to be seated was about a half hour or more as reg restaurant appears to have just 6 booths that seat 4-6 people. Our server was nice, friendly and helpful. The only negative at all is that the parking lot is much to small for this restaurant to share with the bowling alley and a couple of other businesses next door. We parked at the shopping center at the bottom of the hill. We definitely recommend this restaurant and will happily return to try other foods, desserts and drinks.
